Stinking Bishop 500g
Stinking Bishop has a very distinctive bright orange, sticky rind, holding in a gooey, runny interior.
Full fat pasteurised cows’ milk soft cheese made with vegetarian rennet.
The rind is washed in perry (fermented pear juice) which gives it its characteristic flavour, brown/pink rind and pungent smell. The cheese is supported with a beechwood lath and is wrapped in waxed paper.
The cheese itself is surprisingly mild and creamy it is made from pasteurised milk combined from Gloucester and Friesian cows, giving a fat content of 48%.
Only 20 tonnes of this cheese are produced each year!
